Marcelo Brodsky


Born in 1954 Economist and MA Degree, University of Barcelona in 1983

International visual artist  with work focused in visual language, Memory and Human Rights.  His work combines text and images to convey meaning and to build up alternative narratives. It is part of the collections of the  Tate, London, The Metropolitan Museum of Art NY,  the Pinacoteca del Estado, Sao Paulo, the National Museum of Fine Arts, Argentina, the1958 Museum of Fine Arts, Houston,  the Jewish Museum in New York, the Sprengel Museum in Hannover, The MALI in Lima Peru, etc.
 
Major Works include Buena Memoria, Nexo, Memory under construction, Once@9:53, Visual Corrrespondences, Tree time, 1968 the fire of Ideas. He published 18 books with his work in Argentina, Brazil, Germany, Italy, Spain, Mexico  and the USA.

Founder of the Parque de la Memoria and a member of its Board. This Park is a large monument and art exhibition space to honour and remember the victims of Argentina´s military dictatorship, and it is located beside the Rio de la Plata.
 
Founder of Visual Action, an NGO dedicated to transferring visual expertise to NGO´s.  This organization is ongoing, and has projects with support of the Ford Foundation.  www.visualaction.org
