Saâdane Afif


Saâdane Afif (b. 1979, Vendôme, France) is an artist based in Berlin. Defined as “post-conceptual”, he works in various media (performance, objects, text and printed matter) without being categorized under any specific discipline. He takes great care to never finish his works. Laureate of the Prix Marcel Duchamp (2009) and the Prix Meurice pour l’art contemporain (2015), his latest solo exhibitions include The Fountain Archives, Centre Pompidou, Paris (2017), Quoi? - L'Eternité, Atelier Hermès, Seoul, South Korea (2016), Vice de Forme: Das Kabarett, Hamburger Bahnhof, Berlin (2016), Das Ende der Welt, Museum für Naturkunde, Berlin (2015), Political Populism, Kunsthalle Wien, Vienna (2015), Là-Bas., 8th Berlin Biennale, Berlin (2014), Ici., Leopold-Hoesch-Museum & Papiermuseum, Düren, Germany (2014). His work was included in the Documenta 12 (2007) and in the 56th International Exhibition of the Venice Biennale (2015).
