Drew Sawyer

9 Nov - 6:30PM to 7:45PM Auditorium Level 1 Drew Sawyer is the Phillip Leonian and Edith Rosenbaum Leonian Curator of Photography at the Brooklyn Museum. He holds a Ph.D. in Art History and Archaeology from Columbia University, and his scholarly and curatorial projects cover a range of topics, from experimental documentary forms in the twentieth century to contemporary photographic practices, including recent exhibitions with Isaac Julien, Lucy Raven, Allan Sekula, and Carmen Winant, among others. Sawyer is the author of numerous books and catalogues, and his writings regularly appear in Aperture, Artforum, Mousse, and OSMOS. His upcoming exhibitions include Winogrand: Color and Art after Stonewall, 1969 to 1989, which will tour the U.S. during the 50th anniversary of the 1969 Stonewall Riots.
