Marcella Lista

Marcella Lista is an art historian and curator at the Musée national d'art moderne / Centre Pompidou (National Museum of Modern Art/Pompidou Centre). Since 2016, she has run the New Media Collections department, which brings together video, sound and digital art from the 20th and 21st centuries. Her interdisciplinary work focuses on critical approaches to aesthetic creation since the beginning of Modernity. She has taught at several universities (Limoges, Paris I, Paris X) and has started contemporary art projects at the Louvre Museum, where she worked as a programmer for its Auditorium. Exhibitions she has curated include “Sons et Lumières: Une histoire du son dans l'art du XXe siècle” (Sound and Light: a history of sound in 20th century art); “Paul Klee: Polyphonies” (Musée de la Musique, 2011); “Walid Raad. Préface à la Première Edition” (Walid Raad: Preface to the First Edition) (Louvre Museum, 2013); “A Different Way to Move: Minimalismes, New York, 1960-1970” (Carré d’Art, Nîmes, 2017); “Anarchéologie” (Anarchaeology) (Pompidou Centre, 2017); “Eric Baudelaire. Après” (Eric Baudelaire. Afterwards) (Pompidou Centre, 2017). She is currently working on an exhibition with Ryoji Ikeda at the Pompidou Centre, which will be held from June to August 2018.
